PSG Plant Hire lets customers book machinery around the clock.

PSG hires out plant and machinery to the mining sector in Western Australia. We built online booking so customers can reserve equipment at any hour, with an AI team behind it handling quotes and scheduling. The phone and email back-and-forth that used to slow every booking is gone.

How do customers book machinery now?

Online, at any hour. A customer chooses the equipment they need and makes the booking through the website. Behind it, an AI team prepares the quote and slots the machinery into the schedule. There is no waiting for the office to open and no chain of phone calls to lock it in.

Mining and civil work does not keep office hours. A site that needs a machine at nine at night needs it then, not after someone reads the email in the morning. Under the old way of working, every booking meant phone calls and emails back and forth, and anything that came in after hours simply waited. Fast operators would ring the next hire company rather than wait, and PSG lost work it never even saw.

PSG wanted customers to be able to help themselves, at any time, and to get a quick, accurate answer on price and availability without a person having to be at a desk to give it.

Machines get booked while we sleep. The quote is ready before we would have picked up the phone.

Their customers work around the clock, so the booking had to as well. If a machine can be reserved at midnight without anyone picking up the phone, that is work that used to walk out the door.

What did we build?

We built online booking for PSG's machinery, with an AI team working behind it. Customers reserve equipment through the website, and the AI team handles the two jobs that used to need a person on the phone: preparing the quote and organising the schedule so nothing is double-booked. A person oversees it and steps in when something is out of the ordinary.

Think of the website as the front counter that is always open, and the AI team as the staff behind it who never go home. When a booking comes in, the quote is ready and the machine is slotted into the calendar without a clash. The office is no longer the thing a customer has to wait for.

How does it work day to day?

A customer books a machine online. The AI team prepares the quote straight away and adds the job to the schedule, checking that the equipment is free for those dates. PSG sees every booking as it happens and only gets involved when a request needs a human call. After-hours enquiries are captured and handled instead of missed.

For the customer, hiring a machine now feels as simple as booking anything else online. For PSG, the steady stream of quoting and scheduling that used to fill the day, and the jobs that used to slip away after hours, are handled without anyone having to chase them.

What changed for the business?

Machinery can now be booked at any hour, quotes are handled the moment a request arrives, and the schedule stays clean without manual juggling. Work that used to disappear after hours is captured, and the office spends far less of its day on the back-and-forth of taking a booking.

Could this work for other hire businesses?

Yes. Any business that takes bookings by phone and email can give customers a way to book themselves, at any hour, with quoting and scheduling handled automatically behind it. Equipment hire, transport and services businesses all lose work to slow replies and closed offices, and that is exactly the gap this closes.

We build the booking around your equipment, your pricing and your availability, so it fits how you actually hire things out. Your team keeps oversight; the routine booking work takes care of itself. We go deeper on the industry side in AI for plant hire and AI for mining services.

Common questions

What does the AI team do for PSG Plant Hire?

It handles quoting and scheduling around the online booking. When a request comes in, it prepares the quote and slots the equipment into the schedule without clashes. A person oversees it and steps in for anything unusual.

What if a booking needs a human decision?

It goes to a person. The AI team handles standard bookings and hands anything unusual, a special requirement or an awkward date, straight to PSG's team, with the details already gathered.

Does the schedule stay accurate?

Yes. The AI team checks availability before it confirms anything, so a machine is not booked to two jobs at once. The schedule updates as bookings come in, day or night.
